Ahoy Buccaneer Fans,
Diamond of a Day
Saturday was a picture perfect day or was it? It all started with me waking up with a migraine as I did on Friday. I took some medicine to feel better and headed out for picture day at Seminole Youth Athletic Association to take our team pictures. Can you tell who the real Big Nasty is? On Saturday, I went to pick up my daughter Destiny to head out for the Bucs game. As we were heading over the bridge the skies started to clear up from the bad thunderstorms of earlier that day. We stopped to get a $10 parking pass from a friend and got to park very close to Raymond James Stadium. It sure was a short walk. The day was getting better. Destiny and I headed to our seats and watched the Buc’s warm-up. Quarterback Josh Freeman was zipping the ball and was looking sharp. As we were waiting for the game to start a young lady was crying frantically behind me. She had just gotten engaged and lost her diamond from her ring. It had fallen out and she was unaware on were she lost it. Poor girl she was so upset. The game starts and before I know it here comes the franchise QB Josh Freeman getting escorted off the field. I was praying he needed a potty break. He came back with no limp and I am thinking maybe a stomach virus or something. I later found out on the drive home that our franchise QB thumb had been fractured. The day is taken a turn for the worse. I was feeling pretty bad for the young lady behind me that lost her diamond and I was bummed out due to Freeman not playing. Is this going to be a bad day? I am here to tell you not…. Buccaneer fans we are going to be ok! I know our future is with Freeman, but Josh Johnson is exciting to watch. Falling behind early in the game I watched Josh Johnson take the reps with the first team and provide a comeback and a victory Saturday night. Our DEFENSE looked solid. They got turnovers and a goal line stand. The day was getting better. The team looked solid and for the fans that were Blacked Out, I would encourage you to watch the replay Sunday morning. I know I will. The day ended up perfect because Destiny and I got to spend the evening watching the BUCS WIN! It was awesome but I could not wonder if that young lady behind me was Destiny on how bad I would feel for her. Right then I picked up some trash below my seat and I saw a shiny reflection. It ended up being the diamond from the young lady’s ring. I found it! She gave me the biggest bear hug I have ever received. Her tears dried up to a smile and so had I. So remember on how bad things may appear, with a little faith, it ended up being a Diamond of a day. Hang in there, Go Bucs and God bless,

Training Camp at Raymond James Stadium Ahoy Buccaneer Fans, What a night! I attended the Buccaneer’s night practice and it was simply awesome! Ray Jay under the lights made me crazy with excitement. The cannons blasting, fireworks going off and the players running on the field like opening day got my juices flowing for Buccaneer Football. Plus, you could not beat $1 hotdogs and $1 cokes at the event. With the economy being the way that it is, it was refreshing to see that the Tampa Bay Buccaneer organization bring back the affordable family night which we all deserve and cherish. But tonight was more than football. It was about family and friends. The night was a great way to take the time out and enjoy what is really important. Family Time! I got to attend practice with the Seminole Youth Athletic Association (SYAA) “Green Team”. These kids know how to Rock the House! We had a group of seventy strong that attended the practice with us from the football teams. Mighty Mason, Victory Vince, Perfect 10 Nicholas, just to name a few of the little future gridiron greats from the SYAA flag football team led the way. I am so proud to be there assistant coach. It was like a convoy heading over the bridge and invading Ray Jay together we were greeted by Buccaneer representative Ryan Williams which to a delight surprise gave out all the kids a buccaneer bandannas which the kids are excited to where during there first game in 2 weeks. Ryan also invited our team to attend a personal tour of One Buc Palace in the near future. I can’t wait to sit at Rhonda Barber’s locker. Oh, I forgot this it about the kids…. The fans at Ray jay were awesome! I met a particular family that had stopped and took a picture with me and about fifteen minutes later they were frantic…… They had lost there child in a blink of an eye. The mother came up to me and said I need to talk to someone, I immediately jumped up and ran to an usher and he was awesome on combing the situation. The father and I went up and down every row to try to spot him and could not. Fans were helping us find this child. I couldn’t but think if I lost my daughter Destiny if I would be calm enough and keep my wits. I was so impressed with the Buccaneer fans that jumped into action to help find this child and we did. The “lost” childwas in the front row because he wanted to get a players autograph. It made me give an extra big hug to my daughter Destiny and my wife Debbie, my family. The night was a happy ending, Bucs had another practice without injury, the fireworks display was the bomb, and it was a great time to get pumped up on Buccaneer football and family time. Don’t forget to hug your kid and tell them you love them. Go Bucs, God Bless, and Let’s get ready for some football, “Big Nasty” BigBucNasty@aol.com
AHOY! My fellow Buccaneer fans, We went to camp on Saturday and I have to tell you, we have the best fans in the NFL. Everyone was so excited about the great hope for the upcoming season. As soon as we walked in to Training Camp 2010, I noticed how hospital the Buccaneer organization was. Before practice began, Coach Raheem sent all the players over to sign autographs before and after practice. Nice touch…. I noticed that there were a lot of fans of youth in the stands which makes my heart start pumping. Who will be the future Big Nasty, Atrain, Captain Bones or Captain Scurvy? Nice to see the parents are teaching their kids about loyalty towards the home team. The kids coming up and asking for autographs is the best part of camp for me personally. Don’t get me wrong watching our Buccaneers run wild out there is awesome too. I was really excited to see Donald Penn and McCoy on the field Can you say signed sealed and delivered? It is time to see our Buccaneers come back from a tough year last year and get back to our winning ways. I predict we get back to the playoffs with a 9-7 record. I can’t wait for the season to start. Hope to see everyone on August 9th at the Buccaneers’ Night practice under the lights. We will be bringing our SYAA football team to the game with us. I can’t wait for them $1 hotdogs... WHOOOOO! See you there! Rock the House, BIG Nasty www.BigBucNasty.com
